Congress: Women's Mags Should Drop Cigarette Ads

Some 41 members of Congress have asked editors of top women's mags to stop running "misleading advertising" from tobacco companies. If they don't respond, Congress may push for legislation. Washington pointed to the Camel No. 9 ads in particular, which they claim encourage young women to smoke. Titles targeted include Elle, Vogue, Glamour, In Style, Lucky, Marie Claire, W and Cosmopolitan.
