Clear Channel Gives Clear Endorsement Of Arbitron's PPM, Signs Multiyear Deal

In a move that seems to affirm that Arbitron's portable people meter audience ratings are now the official coin of the radio realm, Clear Channel Communications has signed a multiyear deal to use the new portable, electronic audience measurement system. Clear Channel was the big holdout and the chief organizer behind an industry task force exploring potential, "state-of-the-art" alternatives to Arbitron's new electronic audience measurement system, even though most agencies and advertisers had already committed to using the PPM.
