More Coming From Google-Apple

At Google's press day in Paris last week, CEO Eric Schmidt dropped several hints that it would be furthering its partnership with Apple, especially the company's forthcoming iPhone. "You should expect other announcements between the two companies over time," he said. "The iPhone is a powerful new device and is going to be particularly good for the apps that Google is building." Apple's entry is seen as a major opportunity for content makers and content distributors like Google, given the consumer product maker's ties with Hollywood and Big Music.

Stephen Arnold, author of a book on Google, said technologies like Ajax, used heavily by Google, easily fit into the iPhone. Schmidt added that Google is devoting substantial resources and development to mobile phone technology.
