  • July 31, 2007
The New York Times and NBC News/MSNBC.com are teaming up to cover the 2008 presidential election. As of Monday, the two publishers are acting as one mega-outlet for election coverage in the form of "print," video, and photography.

As part of this collaboration, MSNBC.com will publish national political coverage from NYTimes.com, while the Times will have access to NBC News' political video for streaming and publishing on NYTimes.com.

In addition, NBC News will have first access to breaking news and reporting from Times journalists on the campaign trail for all its on-air and online platforms, while the Times in turn will have first access to breaking news from NBC News journalists.

"This collaboration gives our organizations the ability to cover all the bases," said Mark Lukasiewicz, vice president of Digital Media for NBC News.

The combined reach of both organizations exceeds 45 million news consumers, according to Vivian Schiller, senior vice president and general manager of NYTimes.com.
