Cablevision Targets Male Viewers With MavTV

Cablevision has just made sports fans a little happier.

The operator has added MavTV, a male-oriented lifestyle network available to iO digital cable customers as part of the iO Sports Pak. Geared to men ages 18-54, MavTV, owned by the Mav'rick Entertainment Network, includes sports, sports analysis, gaming, comedy, health and fitness, finance, gadgets, and movies. MavTV is billed as a 24/7-destination channel.

John Trierweiler, Cablevision's senior vice president of product management, calls Mav TV "a fresh new network" that is a strong addition to the company's sports package.

The iO Sports Pak supplies 11 sports channels, including Versus, NBA TV, The Golf Channel, The Outdoor Channel, Fuel, Fox College Sports, GOL TV, MavTV, and TVG, the interactive horse-racing network. It is available to digital customers who subscribe to any iO package or Family Cable service.

Doug Jost, MavTV's executive vice president of sales and marketing, says his service complements iO and resonates with male audiences, due to its "honest and uninhibited voice that characterizes all its content."

Cablevision has more than 2.5 million iO customers; iO offers viewers access to more than 240 channels.
