Reality Shows Score For NBC

NBC still won Tuesday night with its tag team of reality shows--but CBS is now starting to build momentum with "Big Brother."

The 9 p.m. reality show on CBS earned a season-high Nielsen Media Research 3.2 rating/9 share among 18-49 viewers--equaling that of NBC's "The Singing Bee," which grabbed a 3.2/9 at 9:30 p.m. "America's Got Talent" put up its usual solid 3.1/10 from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

All that gave NBC a leading 2.8/9 for the night, with CBS grabbing a 2.2/7. NBC had been winning Tuesday night regularly since the summer programming schedule began.

With an all-original night of programming on ABC--two episodes of "Just for Laughs," a "Primetime: Crime" and an hour of its voyeuristic "I-Caught," the network was just behind CBS with a 2.1/7.

Farther down the list, Fox's "On The Lot," the reality show in search of the next big filmmaker, slipped under the 1.0 rating mark with a 0.9/3. Even a rerun of "House" couldn't help; it had a poor prognosis: 1.8/5. Univision, led by a 1.9 for "Destilando Amor," tied Fox for the night with a 1.3/4.

Reruns of "Gilmore Girls" and "Beauty and the Geek" gave the CW a 0.5/1 for the evening. MyNetworkTV's movie "Frankie & Johnny" followed with a 0.3/1.
