Cable Websites Tally Highest Audience Level Ever In March

The unique in-home and at-work audience for ad-supported cable network websites climbed to more than 54.3 million in March—an all-time high, according to a Cabletelevision Advertising Bureau analysis of Nielsen//NetRatings data.

Ad-supported cable network websites accounted for almost 62% of all time spent with media-related Internet venues in March—the seventh consecutive month it has achieved this level of usage. The number of gross at-home and at-work usage minutes (unique audience x time/person) recorded by ad-supported cable network sites in March was more than 2 billion, compared to 1.2 billion for the collective websites of broadcast TV networks, radio, magazines and newspapers. Newspaper websites recorded the largest decline in gross usage minutes compared to January—losing almost 100 million minutes.
