NBCU Restructures Sales, Elevates Gambelli, Reichig

NBC Universal is changing its sales structure, sales and marketing president Mike Pilot announced Thursday. As part of the reorganization, Marianne Gambelli has been promoted to president of NBC network ad sales, and Debbie Reichig is joining the organization as senior vice president for market development. Both executives will take up their new responsibilities immediately. Pilot said he also expects to appoint a new cable sales leader responsible for sales at USA, Sci Fi, Bravo, Chiller, Sleuth, and Uni HD, within a few weeks.

In an official statement, Pilot remarked: "This new structure allows us to even better position our selling, marketing and consumer insight capabilities, creating added value for our clients and furthering our efforts to take a more client-centric, solutions-oriented approach to the market."

Gambelli previously served as executive vice president of sales and marketing for NBCU. In her new role, she will oversee sales for all NBC network properties, including entertainment, news, sports, and the Olympics. She will also oversee regional sales offices in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Detroit. According to Pilot, her new role "allows Marianne and her team to focus solely on selling and marketing all aspects of our core network business."
