Fox Business is readying an Oct. 15
launch into 34 million homes and Murdoch is looking forward to competing with CNBC. "They dwell too much on failures and scandals and politics," he says. "We want to spend a lot of time on
innovation, successes and people who are making money."
The launch, along with the acquisition of Dow Jones, comes at a time he calls "a unique point in history." The demand for financial information is on the rise as prosperity spreads around the world. CNBC and Dow Jones have an exclusive content agreement that runs for another five years, but Murdoch notes that only covers business news and can't keep Fox Business from using the brand or other content.
