Interpublic Group of Cos.' Mullen/LHC, has been selected to handle Wachovia Corp's estimated $60 million to $75 million account. Mullen's Winston-Salem, N.C., office bested Publicis Groupe's Publicis
& Hal Riney, San Francisco. According to the announcement, Riney had been the agency for First Union, while Mullen handled the Wachovia account, but First Union and Wachovia merged in 2001, so only
one agency was needed.
