Gannett Taps PointRoll's Saridakis As Chief Digital Officer

Gannett Co., the nation's largest publisher of newspapers, including USA Today, as well as a leading operator of broadcast stations and related Web sites, today announced a restructuring of its digital media operations, naming Chris Saridakis senior vice president-chief digital officer.

Saridakis had been CEO of online rich media developer PointRoll, which is owned by Gannett. PointRoll Senior Vice President-Global Business Operations & Strategy Jason Tafler was named to succeed Saridakis as CEO.

Saridakis will become a member of the Gannett management committee, and will report to Craig Dubow, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Gannett.

As part of the restructuring of Gannett's digital operations, Jack Williams was named president of Gannett Digital Ventures, which will oversee Gannett's portfolio of online classified companies. Williams will continue reporting to Dubow and will remain on Gannett's management committee.
