Mobile voice mail service YouMail is allowing marketers to send short text ads to its customers through a partnership with 4INFO.

The 40-character messages will appear after the text alerts users already get when someone leaves a new voice mail. Mobile information provider 4INFO is powering the text ads. Ask.com, Cellfish and MobiTV are among brands already using the new text ad service.

YouMail said the new text advertising program would allow the company to maintain its voice mail offering as a free service.
