Hasbro Marketing 'Cloverfield' Monster

  • January 23, 2008
Hasbro, Inc., the Pawtucket, R.I.-based toymaker, will market a figurine of the monster from the Paramount Pictures film "Cloverfield." The creature, which has been likened (by this writer) as a cross between a right whale and a carwash rotisserie, will be on sale for order on hasbrotoyshop.com.

The 14-foot figure also comes with two interchangeable heads, each depicting one of the monster's moods: calm or agitated, depending on medication. It also comes with the head of the Statue of Liberty, albeit a scaled-down version. In the film, the monster goes bowling on Park Avenue using Liberty's head as a ball.

The toy goes for around $100.
