Google Steady At 66% Of U.S. Searches In January

Google accounted for 65.98% of all U.S. searches in the four weeks ending Jan. 26, 2008, according to Hitwise.

Yahoo Search, MSN Search and Ask.com each received 20.94%, 6.90% and 4.21%, respectively. The remaining 48 search engines in the Hitwise Search Engine Analysis Tool accounted for 1.97% of U.S. searches.

Search engines continue to be the primary way Internet users navigate to key industry categories. Comparing January 2008 to January 2007, the Travel, News and Media, Entertainment, Business and Finance and Sports categories showed double-digit increases in their share of traffic coming directly from search engines.
