U.S. Navy Launches Second Podcast Campaign

Podcasting network Wizzard Media announced Tuesday that the U.S. Navy has launched a second podcast advertising campaign, following the success of the initial campaign that was launched in November 2007 and completed in January 2008.

Both deals were negotiated by Campbell-Ewald, Warren, Mich. The new campaign, which launched Jan. 25, is a recruitment effort targeting medical professionals or those wanting to enter the medical field.

The campaign is running through September on seven highly targeted audio podcasts: Brain Science, Med 2.0, Surgery ICU Rounds, Discover Magazine's Vital Signs Podcast, CancerCast, MedPod 101 and The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery's JBJS Podcast.

The total downloads for the new campaign will exceed one million, with ads appearing in 74,500 total episodes per month.
