Rotoworld.com Snags Multiple Awards For Fantasy Sports Offering

  • February 14, 2008
Once resigned to the realm of sports fanatics, fantasy sports sites have gained recognition as valuable online properties.

In 2006, advertisers spent $150 million on various marketing deals in fantasy sports communities, according to eMarketer. There's even a trade organization, dubbed the Fantasy Sports Trade Association (FTSA), complete with an annual awards ceremony--and Rotoworld.com took home the most awards at the FTSA's banquet this week.

New York-based Rotoworld.com is the fantasy sports provider for NBCSports.com, in addition to having its own sports coverage, and the company won awards for Best Unique Contest, Best Fantasy Draft Kit and Best Fantasy Magazine. Rotoworld.com also tied for Best Fantasy Online Service with Yahoo Sports.

"With over 120 different companies represented at the FSTA Conference, including all the big fantasy game providers, it is great to see Rotoworld.com, a pure-play fantasy content Web site, take home these awards," said Rick Cordella, general manager at Rotoworld.com.
