Jaxtr Launches Café Jaxtr, Hits 10 Million User Mark

  • February 26, 2008
Jaxtr has officially launched its social network slash VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) phone service, with café jaxtr, a new, mobile community as the centerpiece. The Menlo Park, Calif.-based social communications company also announced that its network has amassed more than 10 million registered users since its beta launch in March 2007.

With the Jaxtr widget, users can link mobile or landline phones to their customized Jaxtr profile page, as well as other blogs or social network profiles. A widget keeps the user's real phone number private, and there's no need to download an application to the phone. The service allows for local and international calls and voice mail, and uses the minutes already allotted in the subscriber's monthly plan.

Café jaxtr adds an additional layer of social networking to the service--as by going to www.cafejaxtr.com, visitors can find new friends to talk to, by searching through Jaxtr member profiles by topic or country. Café jaxtr can also automatically integrate profile content from sites like Facebook, MySpace and LinkedIn.
