MoveOn.org Invites Consumer Ad Makers

  • March 14, 2008
The political organization is launching a consumer content campaign, "Obama in 30 Seconds," asking people to create a 30-second ad in favor of U.S. Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill.

This is the second consumer input campaign for MoveOn after 2004's "Bush in 30 Seconds" asked people to castigate Bush in a TV spot.

In the new campaign, MoveOn asks the public to sign up at ObamaIn30Seconds.org. The submission deadline is April 1.

After consumer voting winnows submissions to finalists, a panel of judges will choose the final ad.

The panel includes Ben Affleck, Steve Buscemi, Matt Damon, Donna Edwards, Adrian Grenier, Jesse Jackson, DJ Spooky, John Legend, Oliver Stone, Moby, Russell Simmons and several other notables.

MoveOn will air the winning spot nationally, and the winner will receive a gift certificate for $20,000 in video equipment.
