Mitsubishi Puts Creative Up For Review

Mitsubishi Motors North America says it is commencing a review of its creative ad account that it will finish this summer, per a company release.

The Cypress, Calif.-based U.S. sales arm of the Japanese automaker said it is in the final few weeks of a three-year contract with its current advertising agency of record, BBDO West, Los Angeles.

"BBDO West has been instrumental in the revitalization of the Mitsubishi brand in North America," said Dan Kuhnert, EVP/sales & marketing, in the release. "However, as Mitsubishi Motors begins a new three-year plan globally, it is appropriate for us to consider new possibilities."

Mitsubishi Motors North America expects to issue a request for proposal in the next couple of weeks and complete the review process by June 30. The company has tapped Santa Monica, Calif.-based Select Resources as a consultant for the new agency search.
