  • April 16, 2008
Online ad agency Spot Runner has hired Mark Rosenthal as president of media platforms and vice chairman. In this capacity, he will lead a newly created division focused on using Spot Runner's technologies to develop services to meet the needs of ad agencies and media companies.

Rosenthal was previously chairman and CEO of Interpublic Media, part of Interpublic Group, where he oversaw the company's media operations including Universal McCann, Initiative, MAGNA Global and other specialized agencies.

Before that, Rosenthal served for almost a decade as president and chief operating officer of MTV Networks. In a statement, he likened the "energy and excitement" at Spot Runner to the early days at MTV.

In addition to his other responsibilities, Rosenthal will oversee Spot Runner's New York operations and report directly to Nick Grouf, the company's chairman and CEO.
