Today, the company will donate five cents for every purchase made with a Starbucks Card to Conservation International. CI will plant 10 trees for every $10 donated in Mexico as part of a joint project with Starbucks.

Earth Day is also when a new mark will be launched that symbolizes Starbucks' ongoing commitment to coffee communities and to environmental sustainability. This mark will first appear on Pike Place Roast, which was launched two weeks ago.

Coffee bearing the new mark is purchased from C.A.F.E. Practices-approved suppliers, who undergo inspection by third parties in the field.--Nina M. Lentini
