CMOs Prefer Peer WOM To Ads

LoyalTV.com surveyed 184 CMOs in Fortune 1000 companies and found:
  • 44% are loyal to brands, with Federal Express and The Weather Channel being cited most frequently
  • 78% are regulars at their preferred dining spots
  • 44% won't do their holiday shopping in December at the same places that they shopped at last year
  • PetSmart topped the list of retailers CMO's were most loyal to - followed closely by Whole Foods
  • 71% say a company's environmental policy would make them more loyal
  • In buying a car, 23% go with recommendations from friends, 22% consider the environment and 17% are brand loyal. Just 7% say they were influenced by advertising
  • Of the CMOs who are married, 21% said their spouse is the most loyal person in their lives, while 78% said it was their dog
  • Of the single CMOs, 68% count their significant other as the most loyal person in their lives, with only 3% percent counting on the pooch
