New Cable Coalition Formed

The FCC has been approached by a new independent cable coalition to reform program-tying practices. The National Association of Independent Networks has about 12 founding members, including HDNet and the Hispanic Information & Telecommunications Network. The organization reportedly wants firmer enforcement of the 1992 Cable Act and streamlining of FCC rules that protect independent networks from illegal program-carriage decisions.
