Dodge, Disney Partner for DVD Release of The Lion King

  • July 11, 2003
Dodge and Disney are partnering for the 20th anniversary of the Dodge Caravan and the Oct. 7 DVD release of The Lion King, the highest grossing animated film ever. This is the second time Dodge has partnered with Disney. The first time, in 2002, was for the Disney/Pixar release of Monsters Inc. As with the Monsters Inc. advertising campaign, Dodge will integrate Lion King characters into a broadcast, print and online creative in support of the Dodge Caravan. Advertising will break in late September. Lion King characters will also appear on two Dodge Intrepid racecars of NASCAR drivers Bill Elliott and Jeremy Mayfield at Kansas Speedway, Oct. 3-5. "Dodge and Disney are all about establishing an emotional connection to families, so this partnership was natural for us. The Caravan and The Lion King are also the originals in their respective categories and have set the benchmarks that others now follow," said Julie Roehm, director of Dodge Communications.
