NBC's Today Hires ABC/ESPN Correspondent Melissa Stark

Monday Night Football sideline reporter Melissa Stark has been named national correspondent for NBC's Today. Stark, who covered Monday Night Football for three years, has also been a reporter for other ABC and ESPN events. She will report for the Today show and be involved with NBC's Olympic coverage next summer in Athens. The network said she would also be involved in other NBC Sports events. "Melissa began her journalism career in news and wanted to do more than just sports reporting. We are delighted to bring her talents to the Today program. She has the intelligence, energy and curiosity to do the wide variety of stories that appeal to the morning news audience," said NBC News President Neal Shapiro.
