Paris-based Havas, the parent of MPG, Media Contacts, and brand agencies such as Euro RSCG and Arnold Worldwide, has not been impacted to date by the global credit crisis and the slowdown in the
general economy, but the holding company's Chairman Vincent Bollore said he ultimately expects those economics to impact Madison Avenue. Speaking at a press conference during the Cannes advertising
festival in France, Bollore told reporters that Havas has no interest at making a run at Interpublic, the parent of Initiative, Universal McCann, and an array of marketing services agencies, but that
he still is seeking to gain seats on the board of Aegis Group, the London-based parent of Carat that he is the largest shareholder of.
