The agreement gives MerchantCircle members exclusive access to marketing services through Yahoo Local, which features local business listings. In return, MerchantCircle will promote Yahoo Local services to its 525,000 affiliate businesses.
Founded in 2005, MerchantCircle helps small businesses manage their advertising and marketing efforts, including search engine marketing, directory listings, Web development and business verification. About 5,000 of its members pay for such services.
MerchantCircle raised $10 million in second-round venture funding last November from investors including InterActiveCorp, Square 1 Bank and Rustic Canyon Partners.
