In the newly created post, Perez will oversee all day-to-day operations for NBA Digital, which includes NBA TV, NBA.com, WNBA.com, NBADLeague.com, NBA League Pass, broadband and wireless. As such, Perez will manage all aspects of the business, including programming, operations, editorial, e-commerce and marketing.
Based in Atlanta, Perez will report jointly to David Levy, president of Turner Sports, and Adam Silver, NBA deputy commissioner and chief operating officer.
Levy said the appointment was in the best interest of NBA Digital and its future. "With Bryan as its head, we will successfully grow NBA Digital among our key constituents," he said in a statement.
Earlier this year, Turner Broadcasting System and the NBA announced an expansion of their longtime partnership, through which the companies agreed to jointly manage a portfolio of the NBA's digital businesses, which Turner is operating out of its Atlanta production facility.
"This platform and partnership will allow us to create exciting new revenue opportunities for both partners," Perez said in a statement.
Perez most recently served as CEO of Live Nation's Global Digital division, where he established and built the new division and was responsible for the company's worldwide internet, wireless, ticketing, and IT strategy and operations.
Previously, Perez served as EVP of strategy and business development for Clear Channel Entertainment, as well as was EVP of marketing and communications for the National Hockey League's Dallas Stars, where he oversaw all ticket sales, new media, marketing and broadcasting efforts for the team.
