Correction: Magna Sees Online Video, Not Social Media, As Fastest Emerging Medium

Tuesday's Online Media Daily breaking news edition ("Interpublic: Social Is Fastest Growing Emerging Medium; Search Is Slowing") mistakenly cited social media as the fastest growing emerging medium in a new outlook for 2009 issued by Interpublic's Magna unit. The story should have cited "online video," which Magna pegs for a 45.0% rate of growth during 2009, as the fastest growing of the emerging media it tracks. Social media, including social networks and ad-supported widgets, is projected to grow 37.4% in 2009, making it the third fastest growing emerging medium next year, behind mobile (+42.6%).--Joe Mandese
