Vivienne Tam is the latest real world fashion icon to enter Stardoll. Members of the tween-focused virtual world will now find Tam's couture designs in a new boutique, and the designer has signed on to judge an upcoming fashion contest.

Using the Stardoll StarDesign app, members can piece together patterns, textures and fabrics to create fashions for their avatars (or MeDolls). Throughout the contest, Tam will offer feedback and encouragement through chat sessions, and the winners will have a chance to meet with her at her design studio.

"I grew up cutting and sewing my own clothes, using whatever I could find to create the designs," said Vivienne Tam. " I want to inspire young girls to use the resources they have today to be creative in cultivating their own person style. Stardoll provides a new, exciting environment for young girls to channel their inspirations and express themselves with fashion."

Tam joins a host of celebrities and fashion designers that have established a presence in Stockholm-based Stardoll, including Paulina Porizkova, Avril Lavigne and Faith Hill. The world receives over 8 million unique visitors each month, 94% of whom are teen and tween girls. --Tameka Kee
