Nielsen: Most Americans Ready For Digital Conversion

Analog TV households are slowly getting on board in the coming digital TV world.

Nielsen Media Research now says that as of July, just 9.3% of U.S. TV households are completely unprepared for the changeover to digital TV signals come next February. This is down from a 10.5% number in January.

But not all TV sets in those households are on board. In July, Nielsen found 20.9% of households had at least one set that would not work after the transition date. In January, that figure was 23%.

In June, Nielsen said those that were completely unprepared were 9.6% down--a 0.2% improvement over May. It noted that in June, 21.4% of homes had at least one set that was still receiving analog signals.
