Easter Traffic Soars

The Internet ratings report for the week ending April 15 from Nielsen//NetRatings, shows that work traffic to online greeting card sites soared during Easter week, as office workers sent online cards and gifts to family and friends.

AmericanGreetings.com spiked 106%, to more than 1.5 million unique visitors, taking the top spot for the fastest growing domain for the week. Hallmark.com captured the No. 2 spot with traffic to the site jumping 75 percent to 588,000 unique visitors. BlueMountain.com rose 71 percent and attracted the biggest unique audience, with 3.1 million surfers visiting the site. Rounding out the list, Egreetings.com rose 41 percent and drew 692,000 unique visitors during the week.

"Electronic greeting card sites have gained online consumers who want the convenience of easy access to electronic and downloadable print quality greeting cards," said Sean Kaldor, VP of eCommerce, NetRatings "Other offerings like flowers and gifts are helping to open different revenue opportunities, while giving web users more options in gift-giving."
