Disney Tops With Kids and Families

  • April 24, 2001
In this digital age families are increasingly using the Web in their daily interaction. A March 2001 study conducted by Cyber Dialogue and commissioned by Disney Online found that, in addition to using the Web for educational purposes (92% of those polled saw the Web as a great educational tool for their children), 90% of respondents also indicated that the Internet is an important source of their leisure time and entertainment. In addition, 84% of respondents said they enjoy going online with their children.

Disney Online remains number one for kids and family online entertainment, generating 7.6 million unique users in March 2001, a 20% increase from March 2000, according to the March Media Metrix survey.

"With more and more families going online together for education and entertainment, Disney Online has strived to deliver engaging, imaginative content that appeals to parents and kids alike," said Ken Goldstein, executive vice president and managing director of Disney Online. "Family-oriented sites are fast becoming a most powerful medium for reaching today's Web-wise family - particularly moms, who are using the Internet more and more with their families in mind."
