Target Puts A Bull's Eye On The Twins

  • September 17, 2008
Target says it has reached a 25-year deal with the Minnesota Twins, which includes the naming rights for the new Target Field, expected to open in 2010.

The partnership also calls for the two to collaborate on Target Plaza, which the retailer describes as "a pedestrian bridge and public gathering space connecting Target Field to downtown Minneapolis," as well as a variety of marketing and promotional programs.

The 40,000-seat field, which cost $412 million, has been billed as one of America's most urban ballparks. The Twins are currently hot on the heels of the first-place Chicago White Sox in the American League's central division.--Sarah Mahoney
