Radio Revenues Fall 11% In August

Radio revenues exceeded the negative predictions of both Wall Street and veteran radio analyst Jim Boyle, falling 11% in August, according to the Radio Advertising Bureau, which cited figures from Miller Kaplan Arase & Co. Wall Street had expected a decline of 8% to 9%. In August, radio's local revenues were down 11%, and national was down 14%, while off-air, which includes Internet radio, was up 10%. --Erik Sass
