Avenue A/Razorfish Now Razorfish

  • October 21, 2008
Avenue A/Razorfish has shortened its name to Razorfish, the digital agency said Monday. Along with the name change, it also launched a new Web site at www.razorfish.com.

The dual name resulted from the 2004 merger between digital media-buying agency Avenue A and Web design firm Razorfish, both started during 1990s dot-com boom. Since the merger, the company has grown from 800 people in 11 U.S. offices to more than 2,200 people in 20 offices in the U.S. and abroad.

Microsoft acquired Avenue A/Razorfish when it bought parent aQuantive last year for $6 billion. Advertising Age reported in August that Microsoft was considering selling off the online agency.--Mark Walsh
