Congressional Report Blasts FCC Chair Over 'Abuses Of Power'

A Congressional report released Tuesday blasted Bush Administration Federal Communications Commission Chairman Kevin J. Martin for "egregious abuses of power," but stopped short of implying that the nation's top media industry regulator violated and laws during his term. The report, the culmination of a year-long investigation by the U.S. House of Representatives, is entitled "Deception and Distrust," and implied that Chairman Martin abused his authority to support the administration's agenda of loosening ownership rules and requirements for a la carte pricing of cable TV.
