New York Post reports that American Media missed a $21.2 million interest payment on Dec. 1 and is negotiating with bondholders about its $1.1 billion outstanding debt. Sources said the
company has hired bankruptcy lawyers, but a Chapter 11 situation may be avoided if bankers and bondholders come to an agreement.
