AccuWeather Gives Travelers A Closer Look

  • December 19, 2008
AccuWeather.com has introduced a high-resolution weather-tracking application that keeps people informed about changes, allowing travelers to prepare for blizzards and storms that could delay trips, or worse, find them stranded.

Enhanced Radar, an interactive Web display, provides pan and zoom features across the U.S. and Canada for radar and satellite data from 113 meteorologists.

The application is 16 times more detailed than traditional radars available on the Internet. The systems taps into data from the Level II NEXRAD (Next Generation Radar) network, and is more than 150 high-resolution Doppler weather radars that covers the continental U.S., as well as Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Guam.--Laurie Sullivan
