The New York Times Company Reports Ad Revenues

The New York Times Company reported yesterday that advertising revenues for its Newspaper Group, excluding The Worcester Telegram & Gazette increased 9.8% for June 2000 compared with June 1999. The New York Times advertising revenue rose 12% fueled by continued growth in national advertising. Telecommunications, technology products, corporate and e-commerce advertising were particularly strong. The Times is expected to publish a total of four special e-commerce sections this year. The Boston Globe, part of the New York Times Company’s stable of properties, saw advertising revenue increase 10% for June. There was strength in telecommunications, e-commerce, entertainment and bank advertising. The Regional Newspaper Group saw a gain of 2.2% for June.
