Strahan To Host Spike's 'Pros'

Viacom's Spike network has signed another Super Bowl champion to front a reality-competition series. After inking a deal with former Dallas Cowboy Michael Irvin, the network has signed ex-New York Giant Michael Strahan to host the coming season of "Pros vs. Joes."

Strahan, who won the Super Bowl with the Giants in the 2007-08 season, joins charismatic NFL journalist Jay Glazer as host for the fourth season of "Pros," which pits average weekend warriors against elite athletes in a variety of skills competitions.

The series is returning this spring--the same time Irvin's new untitled show, where competitors battle for a chance to make the Cowboys, is slated to debut. Irvin won three Super Bowls with the Cowboys in the 1990s.

"Pros vs. Joes 4: All Stars"--with Dunkin' Donuts, Snickers and 2K Sports already signed as sponsors--will run for eight episodes and could be paired with Irvin's series on the Spike schedule as a block.

Traditionally, "Pros" has featured the Joes challenging the elites in multiple sports per episode. This season, it will only be in one-- football or basketball.

Strahan and Glazer both work as commentators on "Fox NFL Sunday."
