  • Carat Interactive has appointed JIM NICHOLS to the position of VP Communications Planning. This newly developed practice aims to help clients devise and implement more effective online marketing programs. Nichols will oversee the strategic direction of Communication Planning services for Carat Interactive, developing strategic and tactical plans that help clients improve the effectiveness of their marketing programs. Previously, Nichols was the Director of Strategic Planning at the agency.

  • Effective Jan. 1 at J. Walter Thompson worldwide, North American President BOB JEFFREY will become Worldwide CEO and MICHAEL MAEDEL, currently President of the Europe, Middle East and Africa offices, will become worldwide president.

  • Mediasmith, SF, announced that JINENNE MILLER has joined the agency as Media Manager. Miller was most recently at Lot 21/Carat as Associate Media Director. In her new role, she will be responsible for media strategies on all Mediasmith business. Other recent additions to the agency are RAPHAEL RIVILLA as Senior Interactive Media Buyer, and KRISTIN LELONEK as Media Planner.

  • McCann-Erickson San Francisco announced that JEFF HUGGINS has joined the agency as Executive Vice President and Co-Chief Creative Officer. Huggins will partner, and share the same title, with current Chief Creative Officer Kevin Moehlenkamp. Most recently he was Senior Partner, Executive Creative Director at J. Walter Thompson San Francisco, leading the agency’s creative efforts on clients including Sun Microsystems and PG&E.

  • Organic, a web development and marketing services firm, announced the appointment of ADAM TURINAS to Vice President and Managing Director of the New York office. Turinas will oversee all sales and operational duties in New York. He began his career in interactive marketing in 1995, joining Grey Interactive as an Account Director. He also held account leadership positions at Ogilvy & Mather and DMB&B.

  • Intermedia Advertising Group (IAG), which monitors the effectiveness of television ads on a daily basis, has named MARK COOPER as Director of Marketing. Cooper will be responsible for driving product awareness of IAG's syndicated data and research services among marketing and media companies. Prior to joining IAG, Cooper helped found Sitebridge Corp., a developer of real-time sales and service software. Prior to this, Cooper held marketing management positions at both Apple and NIKE.

  • Media Revolution has named TINA GENTILE as Consulting CFO. Gentile will be responsible for leading all of Media Revolution’s financial transactions, operations and production. Most recently, Gentile worked with Media Revolution as the Lead Consultant to Finance, where she developed pricing and management processes to maximize profit margin.

  • GLENN ADAMO has joined the soon-to-be launched NFL Network as Vice President of Production and Operations. The NFL Network will provide viewers 365 days a year of NFL and football-related programming. His responsibilities will include oversight of all production and operations functions of the network. Most recently, Adamo worked as Vice President, Community Development and Broadcasting for the New Jersey Devils. Prior to that, he spent seven years with the National Hockey League (NHL) as Group Vice President of Broadcasting.

  • ANDREW TILIN has been named Senior Editor of Business 2.0 magazine, and NANCY EINHART has been promoted from Writer-Reporter to Associate Editor. For the past several years, Tilin has freelanced for various publications, including the New York Times, Worth, Business 2.0, GQ, Rolling Stone, Details, and Outside. Einhart started at Business 2.0 magazine as an intern in March 2002, and was promoted to reporter six months later.

  • Vodka Magazine has added PAULA E. WRIGHT to its staff as Senior Account Manager. Wright will work with agencies and clients on developing media plans to include Vodka Magazine. Wright was most recently with IFP/West, handling sales and partnership development for the Los Angeles Film Festival and the Independent Spirit Awards.

  • MásMúsica TeVe Network has named MAGGIE RODRIGUEZ as its Vice President of National Sales. For the past five years, Rodriguez was responsible of Corporate Assignments at Spanish Broadcasting System, where she was sales manager for lamusica.com and launched radio station KPTI in San Francisco.

  • ANNE DAILEY has re-joined IMS as Associate Sales Director in their Los Angeles office, replacing CLAUDIA BARBANO. Dailey most recently worked at Telmar and will now manage IMS' West Coast sales efforts.
