  • STEVE SOLDANO (pictured) has joined MindShare North America as strategic planning director, worldwide, overseeing the American Express account. For the past year, Soldano has served as a media consultant to a number of creative agencies; prior to that, he was president and COO of Optimedia. Also at MindShare, JASON MALTBY and SHARI COHEN have been named co-executive directors of the agency's National Broadcast group. Both Maltby and Cohen were previously senior partners and managing directors - National Broadcast.

  • Digitas has appointed GAIL J. MCGOVERN to the company’s Board of Directors. McGovern is Professor of Management Practice at Harvard Business School. McGovern, prior to joining Harvard University in June 2002, was president of Fidelity Personal Investments.

  • TOBI ELKIN, formerly a reporter at Crain Communications' Advertising Age, was named executive editor at MediaPost (People on the Move's parent company) where she will head coverage of the digital media and marketing sector, working closely with JOE MANDESE, editor - MediaPost.

  • The Independent Film Channel has named EVAN SHAPIRO senior vice president, network marketing. Shapiro will lead the network’s marketing division and staff and be responsible for overseeing all marketing and brand building efforts. Most recently, Shapiro was senior vice president, marketing for Court TV. While there, Shapiro launched and managed the network’s licensing efforts.

  • Reed Smith LLP, a top-20 international law firm, announced that 21 attorneys from Hall Dickler LLP will be joining Reed Smith on Feb. 1st. DOUG WOOD will lead the combined firm's Advertising and Marketing Law Group. Wood is also general counsel of the Association of National Advertisers, and the founder, chairman, and U.S. member of the Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance, an alliance of independent lawyers with expertise in advertising, marketing, and promotion law.

  • IAG, the TV marketing measurement company, named DAVID WYLER as vice president, account management. Prior to joining IAG, Wyler held a variety of roles at PRIMEDIA, Inc., including: senior group business manager for PRIMEDIA Business Magazines and Media; ad sales manager, financial services group; and vice president, business development, Channel One Network.

  • NFL Network has named JUDY FEARING as senior vice president of consumer marketing. Fearing is responsible for creating and executing all consumer-marketing campaigns for the channel. Fearing has served as a consultant to NFL Network since last August.

  • LESLIE JONES has been named vice president, international sales and format production for NBC Enterprises. In addition to selling U.S. episodes internationally, Jones oversees the sales and production of localized versions of NBC's non-scripted formats around the world. Jones has been with NBC Enterprises since 1998.

  • JAMES O'BRIEN has joined PointRoll as director of marketing. Most recently, O'Brien was president and CEO of IMPACT Strategies, Inc., an integrated marketing and political consulting agency based in Washington, DC.

  • Eyeblaster has named MASHA GELLER as marketing director and DOUG MILLER as creative director. Most recently, Geller was managing editor at MarketingWonk, and co-moderator of the OldTimers List. Prior to that, she was the online editor at MediaPost Communications (People on the Move's parent company). Miller was previously creative director and founder of an interactive advertising consultancy.

  • KEVIN S. ADELSTEIN was named director of business development for Regional Reps Corp. Adelstein is responsible for developing traditional and multi-channel marketing strategies for Radio advertisers targeting small to medium markets.

  • Zoom Media has hired KELLY MCCABE as senior account executive in the Chicago office. Most recently, McCabe served as account director of new business development at Alloy Marketing & Promotions. Prior to that position, she managed national accounts for Youthstream Media Networks.
