  • The Interpublic Group of Companies has hired STEPHEN GATFIELD as executive vice president, global operations and innovation. Gatfield will work with the company's operating units to develop, improve and extend new models that allow Interpublic member companies to better deliver services to clients around the world. Gatfield joins Interpublic from Leo Burnett Worldwide where, since 2001, he had been chief operating officer. While there, he organized the agency's European region to provide better financial and business development discipline by establishing a network of sub-regional development plans.

  • Modem Media has chosen SCOTT SOROKIN to lead its San Francisco office. He had been leading Modem Media's West Coast creative department and select client relationships since the fall of 2003. Prior to joining Modem Media, Sorokin was co-founder, managing director of Grey Interactive Worldwide, one of the first interactive agencies in the world. While there, he represented clients such as Time Warner, Procter & Gamble, Sprint, Liz Claiborne, IBM, Hasbro Interactive, Microsoft, Panasonic, Kraft Foods, and Dell Computers.

  • Forbes.com has named JEROME FITZGIBBONS vice president, audience development, with responsibility for developing and implementing new business relationships and increasing traffic to the site. FitzGibbons was most recently with 24/7 Media, where served as VP, business development - portfolio and network advertising sales.

  • Magna Global Entertainment has hired LAURA A. ALBERS as vice president of client services and ELAINE FRONTAIN BRYANT as vice president of creative development and production. Albers will work with clients on all aspects of their branded entertainment programs and strategy development. Before joining Magna, she founded and ran her own marketing and promotions agency, Albers Inc., which specialized in branding, promotions, and strategic planning. Frontain Bryant will serve as a creative liaison between clients and networks and oversee program development. Prior to joining Magna, she was with Dancing Toad Productions where she developed the pilot and was a Director/Producer for the Noggin/The N reality series, "Girls v. Boys."

  • EVAN MESSINGER has rejoined Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. in the newly created position of senior vice president, strategic integration sales manager - news. Most recently, he was senior vice president of sales and marketing for Univision Communications, Inc. Messinger is responsible for the day-to-day sales management of all global client solutions, program integration sales, and promotional activities. Messinger will head a team of executives who will work across the entire breadth of the CNN brand to develop multimedia integrated marketing programs and promotions for clients.

  • DAN COOKE has been appointed to the position of vice president, sales for Warner Bros. Online. Cooke will oversee Warner Bros. Online's sales team in all aspects of external sales development, including expanding the company's client base and the creation of strategic product offerings. Cooke most recently served as VP of sales for 360 Youth.

  • FindWhat.com has made the following senior executive appointments: RICK SZATKOWSKI has been named senior vice president/general manager, FindWhat.com Network/Private Label; JASON WILLIAMS as senior vice president/general manager, Merchant Services; and lastly, BRENDA AGIUS, senior vice president, finance. Szatkowski will build upon the strategy and execution of performance-based marketing solutions delivered through the FindWhat.com Network and the FindWhat.com private label service. Williams will be responsible for both managing and expanding the merchant services the company offers. Agius is charged with directing the domestic and international accounting and finance functions of FindWhat.com, and communicating with investors.

  • STAN FRANCOIS has joined icrossing as director of business development, agency relations. Prior to joining icrossing, Francois was general manager for Nurun interactive, where he planned and launched numerous marketing campaigns for companies such as IBM, Oracle, and PaineWebber. Prior to that, he was vice president of marketing at CMGI.

  • Blattner Brunner has promoted ROSE LIED to VP of consumer strategy. She will supervise all branding initiatives and develop marketing plans. Lied was previously director of strategic development and joined Blattner Brunner in 2000 as part of its acquisition of Ketchum, where she was a management supervisor.

  • ISM, a Boston-based advertising and marketing firm, has named ANDREA BURKE marketing manager; she will work in the agency’s New Business department. Prior to joining ISM, she worked in the New Business department of Arnold Worldwide for three years as an assistant marketing manager. While at Arnold, Burke participated in new business pitches for BellSouth, the United States Postal Service, and Nextel Communications.

  • Paul Schultz Advertising (PSA) has promoted AMY ROBINSON to account executive. Robinson will be responsible for maintaining client relationships and ongoing account service for clients such as Greater Louisville Convention Visitors Bureau, FKI Security Group, and Kenmark Optical. Robinson has been with PSA for three years working as account coordinator and assistant account executive.

  • Scripps Networks has promoted two people from within its advertising sales division to new executive-level positions within the company. GARY HERMAN (pictured) has been elevated to senior vice president, advertising sales, emerging networks, and ROBERT CALANDRUCCIO to vice president, ad sales, DIY—Do It Yourself Network. Herman was formerly a vice president, while Calandruccio served as national director of account development for DIY. Herman will be responsible for the overall ad sales strategic direction for DIY and Fine Living, along with Scripps Syndication. Calandruccio will continue to manage the business development, strategic planning, and integrated marketing process.

  • al Punto Advertising, Inc., a Hispanic market-focused advertising agency headquartered in Tustin, Calif., has named CARLOS ARÁMBULA director of client services. Arámbula has lead Hispanic marketing efforts for national and international clients such Toyota Motor Sales, Burger King, Unilever and Azteca Milling.

  • Fastclick has made the following hires. KYM GIBBONS to director of media sales, working out of the New York office. MICHELLE GABLE has been named director of media sales, working out of the San Francisco office. MATTHEW KRAMER was named VP of business development, and JONATHAN SLAVIN was hired as director of media sales.

  • JAN M. GUSZYNSKI has been promoted to marketing director for Chicago-based Tribune Media Services (TMS). Guszynski was most recently marketing and promotion manager, serving all of TMS' business units. Guszynski has served as the marketing and promotion manager for Tribune Media Services since December 1997, where she was primarily responsible for marketing and promotions campaign development, implementation and management.

  • Spanish Broadcasting System has named JACKIE NOSTI-CAMBO as vice president/general manager of the SBS radio cluster in Miami, Florida. Nosti-Cambo will be responsible for all of the day-to-day operations of SBS' three FM stations in Miami: WXDJ-FM, WRMA-FM, and WCMQ-FM. She replaces MARIA ELENA LLANSA, who left to pursue other opportunities.

  • Mobility Technologies has named PETER DOYLE as senior vice president. Prior to joining the company, Doyle spent 30 years at Interep and from 1999 to 2003 was president of Interep/Independents.
