  • MPG, the media network of Havas, has tapped CHARLIE RUTMAN as its new chief executive officer for MPG North America, overseeing all operations in the United States and Canada. Rutman, previously president of Carat USA, joined Carat in 1998 and was named its president in July 2001. He replaces JAMES M. ROSE, who left the agency in November.

  • JEREMY POSTAER and PETER NICHOLSON have joined JWT New York as executive creative directors. The two will oversee work for Diageo, Rolex, and Cadbury Adams brands. Nicholson most recently served as chief creative officer for Publicis New York, and Postaer comes out of a two-year sabbatical from advertising.

  • ALAN COHEN is joining Initiative Worldwide to lead the U.S. division of Initiative Innovations. Cohen will hold the title executive vice president, managing partner, Initiative Innovations. The unit educates U.S. clients on new strategic broadcast programming concepts, marketing programs, and technology advertising platforms.

  • 24/7 Real Media has named JOHN N. PICCONE as vice president technology sales USA and ROBERT G. HESS as vice president, strategic accounts and initiatives.

  • BRIAN OFFUTT has been named senior vice president, Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products. In this new position, he will oversee Paramount's licensing and merchandising activities. Offutt formerly was chief operating officer of Broadway Video Entertainment, where he was responsible for the company's post-production business unit.

  • JONATHAN SACKETT, vice president and director of digital operations at Draft Chicago, has been named president of the National Association of Internet Professionals (NAIP). Sackett will retain his current position at Draft Chicago.

  • Knight Ridder Digital (KRD) has promoted LEM LLOYD to vice president, classified advertising and Knight Ridder corporate director of classified advertising. Formerly the senior director of classifieds, Lloyd succeeds TOM MOHR, who was promoted to KRD president earlier this year. Lloyd will be responsible for driving Knight Ridder's classified initiatives in both print and online.

  • Mediasmith has made a number of recent staff additions and promotions. Joining the agency are ANGELIQUE VEGA as media director; WARD FLOCK as vice president business development; CAROL FULLAM as general manager; CLAIR HENVEY as media strategist and JAY SCHAEFER as interactive media buyer. Promoted to media director are DEREK LEEDY and JINENNE SUTHERLAND. Lastly, LYNN TANIGUCHI was promoted to operations manager.

  • Media Contacts, the interactive arm of MPG, has named T.S. KELLY as its global director of research and insight. Kelly will be responsible for research as it relates to digital, direct, and relationship-based media. Most recently, Kelly served as a vice president for research at IAG Research.

  • TV Guide magazine has named JENNIFER GRAHAM vice president, business planning for TV Guide Publishing Group. Graham joins TV Guide Publishing Group from Columbia House where she served as vice president of financial planning and analysis.

  • Turner Media Group has named JODIE MCAFEE vice president of business development. McAfee will focus on the corporate development of client relationships for Turner Media Group’s operating divisions.

  • WestWayne has promoted DONNA GRAZIANI to vice president, account director for The Real Yellow Pages from BellSouth (BAPCO) account. In addition, LINDSEY CATTRELL is the media planner working on the Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar account; JENNY GROLLMAN has been named media buyer on the Southeast Toyota Distributors account; SHANA REED is the assistant media planner on the Buffalo Wild Wings account; GEORGE A. RUBSAM is the new account supervisor on The Real Yellow Pages from BellSouth account; KIM THORNTON has been named account supervisor on the SunTrust account, and lastly, HANNAH HUCKABY has been named media planner for breatheinteractive.

  • LISA J. ROLF has joined THINK as senior project manager. Rolf comes to THINK from Targetbase Marketing where she provided online advertising, Web site development, CRM, and database marketing program management for a variety of clients in the Southeast.

  • JOHN TOPPEL has joined ENC Marketing & Communications as assistant marketing manager. Most recently, he worked for the University of Pennsylvania and Villanova University.

  • The Republik has hired NATE BRADLEY as business development director. Previously, Bradley was financial manager for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Seattle.

  • Carton Donofrio Partners expanded its team with the appointment of JENNIFER GRANGER to account manager, KEVIN TOMKO to media planner, and CHARLENA MICHELLE SHRIEVES to project manager. Prior to joining Carton Donofrio Partners (CDP), Granger was an account supervisor at Marriner Marketing Communications where she worked on the FLAVIA/M&M Mars, Phillips Seafood, and Sodexho accounts. Before joining CDP, Tomko was an account executive and media planner at CACI Inc. where he planned and purchased recruitment media for the National Security Agency. Most recently, Shrieves was marketing manager at Event Solutions, Unlimited.

  • JOHN GLASCOTT was named senior vice president business development and sales for RealAge Inc.

  • CHARLEY HOEFER was named vice president of sales for LeadGenesys Inc. He was most recently CEO of Strategic Media Partners, a small consultancy for media launches.

  • Kelliher Samets Volk has named COLLEEN LOEFFLER as marketing services manager. Loeffler will be responsible for business development and marketing for the agency as well as helping to build existing client relationships. Prior to joining the agency, Loeffler worked for Goldman Sachs & Co.

  • BILL SCOTT, president of the PAX Television Network is leaving the company. He will continue to serve as a consultant to the network. Scott was one of the creators of PAX and helped launch it in 1998. At that time, he was a member of the board of directors of Paxson Communications, and then served as president of programming to help put the network on the air. In 2002, he was appointed president of the network.

  • NICHOLAS PASTULA has joined RAZOR magazine as fashion, grooming, and fragrance director; PETER WEINSTOCK has been named as account director, entertainment, technology and finance; and NADINE WEISS has been appointed as the magazine’s West Coast advertising director. Pastula comes to RAZOR from the MediaCom division of Grey Global Group, where he served as the New York-based account manager and media planner for the agency’s LVMH corporate business. Weinstock was previously advertising director at the Billboard Information Group, and Weiss was sales director for Magnum Worldwide.

  • Range Online Media has named ASHWINI KARANDIKAR as director of account services. She was previously senior manager for online advertising at Match.com.

  • DAMON ROMINE has been named entertainment media director at GLAAD. He has been deputy editor of Hearst's TEEN magazine since 2001 and was part of the Bauer launch team of J-14 magazine in 1999.

  • SQAD has added three senior executives to its management team. JAMES KINDRED has joined the firm as chief technology officer; TOM GRAVES has joined as manager of systems development for SNAP; and SAMANTHA MARLOW has joined as senior account executive in SQAD's West Coast office. Kindred joins SQAD from Customer Portfolios LLC, where he served as chief technology officer. Graves moves to SQAD from Interactive Market Systems where he was vice president of programming. As manager of systems development for SNAP, Graves will be responsible for helping to build the SNAP3 brand. Marlow joins the company from Media Intelligence Group Inc., where she was principal, sales and marketing.

  • Revolution Media, a Los Angeles-based media buying agency, has hired YVONNE LACEY, formerly of the Fox Broadcasting Company, as broadcast supervisor.

  • Local Marketing Corporation (LMC) has named LAURA Z. DORWARD senior vice president, general manager. Dorward joined LMC in 1989. She has spent time on the media planning, promotional development and account management ends of the business, supporting a range of major packaged-goods brands.

  • DIC Entertainment (DIC), an independent children's entertainment company, has promoted NANCY FOWLER to president, worldwide consumer products. Fowler, who joined DIC in 2002 as senior vice president of worldwide consumer has been responsible for managing the worldwide relaunch of the Strawberry Shortcake brand.
