The Media Future Will Be Streamed, Tokened, Personalized

Digital publishing is poised for its next revolution...in consumption, technology and revenue. Time spent with non-linear video is dominating user attention and advertiser dollars. Web 3.0 will allow for tokenized, individual digital relationships with audiences. And the revenue opportunities for everything from NFTs to metaverse experiences to e-commerce, challenge all media companies to get out of their comfort zones in selling mere impressions and subs.

Let's lean forward. At MediaPost's annual Spring Publishing Insider Summit we challenge media executives to share their strategies and practical planning for change. What will the sustainable media revenue portfolio of 2024 look like? How will streaming media fit in? How do companies maintain their advertising base while investing in Web 3.0?

We will explore:

  • The diversified business plans 0f 2024
  • Streaming success for media brands
  • The new opportunities in e-commerce
  • NFTs and Web 3.0 for publishers
  • Post-cookie strategies for leveraging first-party data
  • The new face of content studios
Every aspect of the media business has become a moving target. At the MediaPost Publishing Insider summit we bring senior media business executives together to share their plans for getting ahead of the curve.

Presentation: Scaling Audience and Revenue: The Arena Model
Legacy media brand Sports Illustrated turned around its market share, moving from #13 to #4 in sports through content and audience development, channel development and brand-focused direct sales. Rob shares lessons learned from building the 100-site Fan Nation network, accelerating growth through breaking and trending news, video and evergreen content and then monetizing them with direct brand sales and affiliate commerce. This foundation now supports expansion into affiliate commerce, and we are now extending it to new arenas via TheStreet.com and recent acquisition of Parade.com.

Panel: First-Party Advantage? That Post-Cookie Strategy Panel
Cookie and data deprecation seem to favor media brands by enhancing the value of the first-party data they are supposed to be best at harvesting. But are publishers really ready to gather, align and leverage their unique access to audiences effectively? We challenge our panel of publishers to share the concrete strategies they have implemented internally and in market that are successfully executing on this first-part advantage? What tools are working now to win in this next stage of media vs. platforms for advertisers?

Playing up to 7200 yards, The President’s Reserve can offer any golfer as much challenge as one might desire, yet be a pleasurable golfing experience for even the occasional golfer. The President’s Reserve has been recognized by Golf Digest Magazine as one of the TOP 10 in Tennessee.

Brewery Tour

Enjoy great times with fellow Summiters on a tour and tasting of local favorite Tailgate Brewery!  A fiercely independent craft brewery in Nashville calling Music City home since 2014!

Tour of Third Man Records Studio

Third Man Records is an independent record label founded by Jack White in 2001 its first physical location—a combination of record store, performance venue, and headquarters for the label—in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2009.

The Nashville location serves as a record store, label offices and live venue. It includes The Blue Room (a live performance venue), a photo studio and darkroom, a storage facility for master recording tapes, and the label warehouse. The Blue Room is the only venue in the world to record live shows direct-to-acetate producing a vinyl master in real time. To commemorate the opening of Third Man Records in Nashville, White debuted his new project, The Dead Weather, performing a short set for the 150 invited guests. The label's motto is "Your Turntable's Not Dead."

Friday 2 p.m.

Axe Throwing at Bad Axe

Join fellow summit attendees at Bad Axe Throwing for a fun afternoon. The sport of axe throwing was invented about 5 minutes after the first axe was created, however it was traditionally undertaken in the outdoors, far away from urban environments.
