Yelp this week made significant changes to its app for businesses trying to reach consumers through high-quality leads.

The changes also aim to help consumers hire service professionals and manage projects, and can help to drive high-quality leads to services businesses.

This week, Yelp announced a redesign of its inbox experience and says it should now be easier to manage leads.

The new inbox serves the most important information first including project titles, location, timing, and a preview of the message.

This helps business owners easily view and interact with customer leads from Request A Quote, Request A Call and Nearby Jobs on Yelp.

The redesign aims to serve all the company’s project details that make it easier for service pros to evaluate the value and differences between jobs. Previously, the messages were automatically generated from potential customers.

Through Yelp products like Request A Quote, Request A Call and Nearby Jobs, Yelp connects consumers with local services businesses. 

Advertising revenue from services businesses has risen by 15% year-over-year (YoY), driven by growth in the home services category -- which accelerated from approximately 20% YoY in Q2 to approximately 25% YoY in Q3, according to the company’s Q3 2022 financial earnings.

Businesses looking to expand the reach to consumers might want to look at Yelp’s new Projects experience in the app. This is a way for consumers to manage projects and compare quotes in one place, which also helps companies make their services known. It enables consumers better create, manage, and organize all Request A Quote and Request A Call details in one place.

Users can create new projects by requesting quotes through Yelp as well as schedule consultations, compare prices and track their projects’ status.
