SCS' report reveals more than a quarter (27%) of U.S. consumers said they've permanently shifted their preferences to online shopping over going to a store. This group of core digital-first consumers boosted their online spending during the pandemic and continues to do so.

While Amazon is the leading ecommerce company, with about 69% of consumers saying they have shopped on its site in the past six months, traditional retailers such as Walmart and Target have increased their digital presence. While almost 83% of consumers have shopped in a Walmart store, about 59% have bought something from its website.
