LendingTree and Pymnts found in their report a quarter of U.S. consumers have a side job, while 17% receive another form of income, including from the sale of used items, gambling winnings and government benefits.

“Inflation has made life more and more expensive, and consumers have already made moves to cope, such as pulling back on discretionary expenses,” according to the report, “but one can only pull back so far on spending.”
