Thirty-eight percent of Americans plan to send an e-card for Valentine’s Day this year, instead of the snail mail variety, according to a Harris Interactive survey commissioned by SOASTA in January. Nearly half (47%) of men ages 35 to 44 said they plan to send an electronic Valentine, followed by men 18 to 34 and women 18 to 34 (41% each). “On Valentine’s Day, millions of Americans turn to Hallmark to express themselves,” said Cheryl Davis, Hallmark Digital Technical Operations Manager, adding the greeting card company relies on cloud and mobile testing platform SOASTA to ensure its Web site is ready to handle the extraordinary real-time traffic the holiday will generate.
